The Northen Access Pipeline is back on track, sadly. This pipleline would run fracked gas from Pennsylvania across the Allegheny River (Ohiyo), over a watershed that serves as the sole source of water for Cattaraugus County, throuh wet lands, and other disasters just wait to happen.
Pipelines have a 100% fail rate. They all break and leak. The question is when? And where?
And National Fuel is prepeared to use the power of government (eminent domain) to condemn and seize property to build this pipeline.
Over the Allegheny/Ohiyo River? Just ruined water downstream all the way to the Mississippi.
Or into the Cattaraugus Creek? Lake Erie just took a shot of poison.
Or over the Cattaraugus watershed? Just ruined water for people from down in Pennsylvania all the way up to Rochester.
One more thing to remember - this gas is destined for Canada, not us. Our land, water, and air is being threatened so that National Fuel can satisfy the dema ds of wall street for higher profits. We get nothing out of this.
And it is fracked gas. The most polluting and dangerous form of gas production.
Trump's FERC approved this disaster waiting to happen.
We can still fight.
