Governor “Status”
Cuomo is extending his job bribing tendency to the southern tier
counties. His goal is to use $20 million in taxpayer dollars as a
bribe to bring green energy jobs to Western and Central NY counties.
Much like 43 North
- this is a contest to have green energy producers compete for money
from NYS taxpayers to fund their start-up and create jobs this
region.
To be clear, as a
socialist I support green energy. Anything we can do to wean
ourselves off of fossil fuels is great. Anything we can do to –
great. I'm all for it.
Why are we fighting
to bring capitalists to NY to create jobs when we have colleges that
are starving for funds that are doing the research, manufacturing
plants that are sitting idle, and workers that need jobs? Many
college educated students are leaving NY for “greener pastures'
because they don't think the jobs are here.
And Cuomo is
proposing one of the great bourgeois-socialist ideas – if we pay
for them to relocate here, they'll create jobs for us and everything
will be good. It's abbreviated b-s for a reason because it never
works. It is also called a public-private partnership. The public
foots the bill and the private sector gets all the profits.
Better yet – Use
the colleges as the think tanks, refurbish the closed factories to
manufacture what the colleges design, and let the workers form
cooperatives, which will keep the profits here in NY and help create
more jobs, quicker, and even pay the money back.
Instead, Cuomo is
holding his private party and the public gets stuck with the bill.
It would be nice if
we did get something green out of it.
If the 43 North is
any measure of success, I'm not too confident.
