We are all hearing about the tragedy that is Flint. This is good to know about as it shows how the ruling 1% views the rest of us. As long as they can make money, they don't care about the consequences.
WIVB reported on January 30th about a toxic dump in Lackawanna that is in danger of contaminating Lake Erie. That would ruin the water for how many?
The concern is about a toxic dump site along the lake shore near Lackawanna. Toxic trash from Bethlehem Steel was put into a site that, if breached, could go into the Smokes Creek and then into Lake Erie.
The distance from the dump to the creek?
140 feet. That's less than half a football field.
And the damage, locally, would affect Lackawanna, Amhert, and Clarence.
It could go as far as Toronto.
Total population affected?
15 million people.
Citizens United for a Clean Lackawanna Waterfront need our support and help in fighting to get this industrial dump site cleaned up.
Being able to get to the waterfront and enjoy it with family is important.
Saving the water for 15 million people and untold animals is equally important.
