WNY Welcomes War Mission

It was announced today that the Niagara Falls Airs Reserve Station would receive the KC-135 refuelling tankers to replace the KC-130 transport planes that were being downsized and transferred out.

Great.

Senators Schumer and Gillibrand advocated for the station and the mission, as well as Representative Collins, Representative Higgins, and Governor “Status” Cuomo, claiming the “positive economic impact and national security interests” that it served.

The economics involve the jobs that it “creates” - over 3000 part and full time jobs.

The national security interests involves the Canadian border and flights to Europe.

So, this is going to stop terrorists from getting across the border from Canada? Or from people getting angry over the debacle that is US Middle East policy? (BTW – Pretty much all the so called “terrorist threats” were set up by FBI fronts. Makes me wonder – If the person actually did get in contact with Daesh, would they have taken the person seriously? Everything that I have read says that the FBI goaded the person or people into action.)

BTW: the drones are armed drones that fly in war zones. As Victor Emanuele points out in an article on TeleSur – the War in Iraq and drone strikes helped contribute to the rise of ISIL/Daesh. Others have commented on this as well, such as Jeremy Scahill.  Democracy NOW! and the Real News Network have plenty on this as well.

Step back a moment and look at the basket case that is Iraq and the chaos that is Syria and Libya. Let's remember Afghanistan and the Pakistani borderlands.

This is security?

So now we have the drone mission and tankers that can refuel bombers and fighters in war missions.

Why don't I feel any safer?
